Here's a video that goes into even more detail what options Kody and his Kody-pendents want for their McMansions! I've included the floor plans for you, so you can easily visualise what they have in mind.
My thoughts? I hate Great Rooms. Can't stand them. I want my kitchen hidden from view. And another thing I noticed - there's no living room (do the Kody-pendents realize this?) and did you hear Robyn complaining about the 'vaulted' ceilings? And did you hear her say "In my home in Utah I had vaulted ceilings". Who is she fooling? Who would want to make that wonderful open space into bedrooms? And then Janelle wants to convert the formal dining room into an office? She wants to turn that beautiful space into an OFFICE? Is she nuts? I'm beginning to think only Meri understands how to make this McMansion into a showcase. If this was going to be my house, here are my changes:
- Keep the great room and wet bar (but I would definitely redesign that wet bar)
- Change the Office/Exercise room into a formal sitting area
- Change the Hobby room into an office AWAY from distractions (but close to the food)
- Change the 2nd floor Bonus room into a media room opening to the deck
